I am very sorry I haven't posted in awhile. With work (along with getting a new job) and kickball I fell behind in my crafts and updating my blog.
I came across this blog Littlemissmomma and she did this Anthropologie inspired necklace and I fell in love! When I went to Hobby Lobby today I thought to myself I should make this necklace. I came across this grey fabric and I thought it was perfect. Excuse the lighting on the pictures but it has been storming here in St. Louis and I was just too excited to put this up that I couldn't wait. I am defenity will be making more of these in all different colors and patterns. I might even just scale it back to only three flowers for a few but I am really happy with the results.

fleece flower wreath with ribbon!!!
My friend from high school Ashley came to mte for one of my wreaths. She saw one that my sister in law did for winter time with all white flowers and red berries and feel in love with it but wanted something she can do all year round. I decided to go with a pearl color berry with the white. It gave it a classic look that you can take all year round. But with the white and ivory I wanted to add a punch of color to it. That is when I came up with hanging it with a ribbon. This way she can change the ribbon for whatever season it is!!!
Ashley told me that the wreath is kid friendly too. She has the cutest little boy William that is over 7 months now. When I met with Ashley to give it to her he kept trying touching it. Ashley just told me that every time she opens her front door that he reaches out to touch it!!

Hospital Gown!!!
My best friend Jen is having her first baby here very soon!! I believe she is getting to the 3 week mark. I can not take credit for this because this is beyond my sewing skills. I have known Jen since middle school but we didn't become as close until the end of high school. My mom loves Jen and she wanted to do something nice for her. Jen is really into fashion and I knew that she wouldn't want to wear just a normal hospital gown. My mom came up with the idea of making her a hospital gown as a baby gift for me. Since Jen is having a little boy name Mason we wanted to stick with blues and browns. Jen has the most beautiful blue eyes ever so we picked this color blue to really bring them out. My mom did all of the work, I just helped pick out the fabric. She made a pocket so Jen can have her cell phone in arm's length. She also made the sleeves with Velcro so it is easy to breast feed. So if you are trying to think of a fun baby shower gift and you dont want to give the normal diaper and outift this is a perfect idea!

Posterize and Pencil Sketch images on canvas
I wrote this blog yesterday but whenever I would sign on it wouldn't let me until today and the posting was no longer there. So I have no idea what happened but here I go again
I got two request for paintings like I did for my friend Kerri's wedding shower gift from a friend and my brother. Since both of the pictures were so strong I decided to make these with just a simple color background.
It was this girl Diane's birthday and my brother wanted to do something nice for her. We have known her for along time so of course I jumped at the chance to do this for her. This picture was recently taken on her neice's birthday and I thought it was so cute. The image was already so dark so I had to do some computer magic with it to lighten it up enough to make this possible. In the picture it is hard to see the color of the background because when I finished it I had no natural light left and the gift was to be devieler that night, but it is a very pretty light grey background. Since Diane have alot of greys in her apartment I thought this will go nicely. I also did the pencil sketch option to complete the picture. I love this picture so much because it really shows the love that is in this family.
This next picture was for my friend Liz's friend who just had her first baby. Liz saw Kerri's picture in person and asked if I could do something like that for her friend. I was nervous because this is the first time I did something for someone I didn't know. When I was looking through the pictures of that day I came across this one and fell in love. This picture was so awesome. Since I really didn't know this beautiful family and what their taste/home is like I wanted to go with a warm fun color and that is why I chose a golden/yellow. I did the posterize effect to it and I loved it so much. I did come across a problem when I didn't let the ink dry enough before removing the paper and most of the image came off with it. I went ahead and hand painted most the image. I was really nervous about it but I thought it turned out great. My friend Liz told me that they loved the picture and put it up in their new daughter's room. The first picture here was taken a day before. I noticed there was some extra room on the bottom so I went ahead and put in the birth date on it to add alittle more something to the painting.

fleece flower wreath!!!
I got this idea from my favorite sister in law Margo. She has done these wreaths before and I really wanted to try it. Instead of just one color I wanted to go with two. This wreath I made for my mom for mother's day and I know she like the combination of yellow and blue so I thought it would be perfect!!! This was the very first time I have done one of these and I was really happy with the results!

Starter gardening set made pretty
Well today is a HUGE day for weddings. Prince William and Kate Middleton got married this morning. I just want to say that she looked BEAUTIFUL!!! Her dress was very her but also followed tradition which I thought was great. However, today is also the wedding of my good friend Kerri. It is the same friend that I did the picture for on my first post. Her wedding shower gift is what got me excited for making crafts after the reaction I got from it. I just want to point out that Kerri set her wedding date before William and Kate :) Well I was thinking hard about what I can give Kerri for her wedding. I didn't feel like giving her cash was really something that I wanted to do. I wanted to be creative. Since she is a new home owner I wanted to give her something that she wanted to do. Kerri is all about making her first home beautiful so I wanted to focus on the outside since the inside was pretty much taken care of. I asked her one day if she plans on gardening and she responded with "Yea, I want to but I have no idea what I am doing". So that is where my idea came to play. Make her a gardening starter kit!!
I kept thinking what exactly I could do to make it something she will enjoy. She loves normal stuff that you can make pretty. I started with the tools. I covered them with fabric and ribbon. I wanted to make something as simple as a gardening tool and make it pretty. Then I thought ok, what else could I do?? Then it hit me, I can make a bucket that she carries everything around with pretty as well. When I went to Lowes to get the tools I saw this carrying bucket cover and I was like AWESOME, this is the picture I have in my head and now I know how I can go about it. When I saw this fabric at Hobby Lobby I feel in love with it! The rest is history. I added some gloves, a hose spray, and a box of plant food to get her started. I was thinking about getting her bulbs too but there are so many beautiful types of flowers in many colors so I thought it would be best for her to pick those out herself.
I hope everyone enjoys :)

Baby diaper bag and wipe case!!!
I know it has been awhile since I have updated my blog. I have been super busy lately and I started a new job so my creative side had to take a slight break.
One of my best friends Jen is having her first baby in June. She is having a little boy name Mason. I couldn't be any more happy for her. I wanted to make her something instead of just going to the store. I came across this idea from a blog called the The idea room blog . When I saw that I knew that is something that Jen would LOVE. Her theme is jungle with green, blue, browns, and alittle orange. My very creative sister in law Margo made her burp clothes with monkeys and the color green. I figured since she has already gotten green that I would work with the other colors. This was my first attempt at it and I was very happy with the results!!
